No, I never said anyone will have to pay for logging in. New members won't be allowed to use free email services (Hotmail, Gmail, etc), only ISP emails, of which everyone has only one (or very few, if more than one) - it comes free with your Internet connection at home.

Yeah, though it seems a little slow. Other friends have started getting quite a few offers, albeit none for chemical engineering.

It's pretty easy to deal with scammers and trolls, less "paperwork" if you will - ban, drop the name in a special staff area with a few comments and that's that. On the other hand, if it's a normal user who requires a ban/warning that involves a lot of investigating, reading up, thinking, etc. As long as it's just trolls and scammers that increase in numbers we're fine. Plus we're thinking of moving to non-free email accounts, which means that 99% of trolls and scammers would be eliminated.

No real updates, so far I've just got the offer from Sheffield and I haven't heard back from the others yet.

Hey, thanks for the help. Perma-banned both accounts, dylans seems to have a couple of warnings and bans for related stuff (photo comment flaming, etc) so maybe it isn't hacked after all. I signed the ban so he can come find me if he finds that it was hacked. Thanks again.

I think the number of accounts is given depending on the company - some may hand out loads, others might hand out one or two.

I think some of them give them to you without the ability to choose what goes before the @ (i.e. depending on the name you used to register their services) so you might end up with tlake@virgin.com or maybe you're allowed to choose - you'd have to ask them. Registered users are safe regardless of whether or not we go ahead with this so no worries.

Nope, if we do implement it we'll keep everyone on board who was registered up until now, it'd only be for future registrations. ISP emails tend to have been either given to you when you had them connect your Internet, or generally you can just call them up and ask for it (it should be free).

Hopefully this'll cut down the trolling drastically and maybe increase the post quality a little too.

Thanks. Yeah, not the best moment in my life but I guess that's that, keep on going and see where it ends. Chemical engineering looks pretty difficult but I think it'll suit me.

Fairly shitty, I won't bore you the details but basically I'm doing horribly in terms of health and I might have a bone marrow disease or even leukemia. Aside from that, lots and lots of studying to do, plus I recently finished the lengthy application process to university (applied for chemical engineering! - I've already gotten a positive reply from one university out of the five I've applied to, so far so good), so I'm stoked on that. Lots of homework, but that's a given. Haven't ridden in three months though... gotta fix that statistic one of these weekends.
